Dr. Alan Hayes of AMG Systems to present at Intersec Dubai

Founder and MD Dr. Alan Hayes of world leading transmission technology manufacturer for Security & Surveillance Solutions, AMG Systems Ltd, will be presenting at the Commercial Security Forum during Intersec in Dubai

According to Dr. Hayes, “Transmission is often the overlooked element in large security & surveillance projects. We believe that the reason the transmission element is often less talked about – although it’s a pre-condition for the systems operation and efficiency – may be due to the fact that it’s rather taken for granted that a transmission network will be available and because it is considered less ‘sexy’ than, for example, a new camera. Because the transmission network is not immediately visible i.e. the cables that carry the signals are buried and the transmitters and receivers are often just ‘black boxes’ which go into either a rack in the control room in the case of the receiver, or are installed somewhere close to, or even integrated with the camera housing, all you really see is a cable with a connector. However, it should be pointed out that the right choice of transmission technology can facilitate cost savings and help future proof a solution. So it is necessary to think long term and strategically when you design the transmission network solution, especially when it comes to wide area networks, and observation critical networks, such as Traffic Management or wide area perimeter applications”.

The topic of Dr. Hayes’ talk is The Technologies and Topologies of CCTV Transmission Networks, and the presentation will focus on providing valuable and significant information to the audience with regards to what one should bear in mind when designing future proof CCTV Transmission solutions for security and surveillance applications in different industry segments. The talk will give examples of projects in the Middle East where a strategic approach to design and implementation has saved significant amounts on the transmission infrastructure, whilst retaining full flexibility with regards to future expansion and/or application of new technology.

Dr. Hayes says, ”AMG has supplied transmission technology to a large number of high profile projects in the Middle East within a variety of industry segments such as; Oil & Gas, Homeland Security, Government Buildings, Traffic Management and more. Last year, we selected Intersec as the platform for our worldwide launch of the new Vision 5000 product range. We have always found the show to be excellent, and I am much looking forward to sharing our experiences during the presentation, and meet partners, clients and prospects during the show”.

The Intersec exhibition and conference combines a huge international profile, with a strong regional impact. Over 17,200 visitors from 96 countries and over 700 exhibitors from 50 countries attended Intersec 2009. Intersec 2010 takes place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Dubai in the UAE January 17-19 2010.

AMG Systems will be exhibiting at stand 725C in hall 4. Dr. Hayes’ presentation will take place on Sunday 17th January 12.00 – 13.00 at the Commercial Security Forum in Hall 2
